Ranger Talk Activities

Ranger program given each evening around 7:30 pm at the Bat Amphitheater, in which crowds gather to watch the nightly flight of a quarter of a million Mexican free-tailed bats out of the Natural Entrance to to the cave.

Hour long talk describing the discovery of the caves, its early days as a mining facility and tourist attraction, and its eventual designation as a National Park

This program which occurs 8:00 every evening in the summer includes a short ranger talk, a film about the 4 presidents, the playing of the National Anthem, and the lighting of the sculpture.

Guided 2-hour walk by a local staff photographer, who teaches technique, lighting effects, and composition of outdoor photography. Reservations must be made 2 days ahead of time at the Ansel Adams Gallery in Yosemite Village (209) 372-4413.

Not exactly a Ranger Talk - more of an informative talk given by a fellow camper, who happened to be a real estate agent, about what to expect on Monday and how to get the most out of our 2+ minutes of "totality"
