Green River - Flaming Gorge Dam to Little Hole

Some of the best trout fishing (rainbow, brown, cutthroat) in the West because of the ideal temperatures by the dam. Strict regulations: limit of 2 under 13' and 1 over 20'. Also, artificial lures only.

Broom Point

Mouth of the river where the Western Brook Pond meets the Gulf of St. Lawrence. Fishing for trout is popular here when the tide is flowing out. Theoretically, a fishing license isn’t required if you stay past the marker (towards the ocean side).

Resurrection Creek

Right past the village, the Resurrection Creek flows into Turnagain Arm. During the summer salmon runs, fishermen line the shores of the Creek catching the pinks as they make their way in from Turnagain Arm.

Fishing Hole

The Alaska Department of Fish & Game stocks this little bight with king and silver salmon smolt. Each year the salmon return, fooled into thinking this is where they are to swim up river and lay their eggs. Instead, they are greeted with a crowd of anglers lining the banks of the bight. Fishing licenses are available right across from the Fishing Hole at the Sport Shed.

Wasque "Rip"

The outermost point of Wasque Reservation Beach. It is called the "Rip" because of its strong undertow and currents, where stripers and bluefish love to chase little fish. On almost any day, dozens of four-wheel drive vehicles line the water’s edge, especially during the annual Striped Bass and Bluefish Derby held each year for several weeks in September and October.
